Steam is DRM, but it's done well. If Steam was in its younger days I could understand the dislike. However, these days it's a massive distribution platform with way more pros than cons. They're always offering insanely good deals on games, their DRM methods aren't that invasive, and they care about the gamers. And more importantly, given its size now and its library... its DRM is unified and consistent. I'd rather have one central distribution/gaming platform like Steam, than having 20 different games from different publishers with their own bull**** DRM. Even if Steam has DRM, it's one central DRM with all of your games. |

We're still DRM free on current consoles in the sense that if we buy a physical game disc we can play it and take wherever we want offline or online. Although online passes have already started popping up on popular titles like BF3 and Borderlands 2. I have a feeling DRM is going to be a bit more strict on next gen consoles. |

Just because it doesn't come out on a yearly basis or have it's logo plastered on soda and chips doesn't mean it won't have some hype and people excited for it. |
