I don’t know the exact numbers but PC does have a slight speed advantage because of directionals, I’m on my phone so I’m not even going to bother looking but Dusty has a good post about it in his history (during a similar discussion about speeding). Believe the difference was 0.67/s in terms of tiles covered if I’m remembering correctly, if not that it should be around there. This is one of the problems with possible speed detection being implemented, staff probably can’t go into specifics to prevent helping cheaters though.

Could you share us the link to that thread? I do know that pushing down a button with a different finger on a keyboard is more efficient than dragging a thumb across a screen, that was what I always thought about speed difference.

If you think about it, Most IPhones and mobile devices in general get lag spikes, And usually are a tad bit slower in processing, I know whenever I'm on PC, Never lagspike or slow down usually, But on my iPhone i always lagspike, and stuff like that probably slows it down a bit

iPhone and other mobile devices are way more smoother than PC. Maybe you have an old mobile phone or you have issues with it. 90% of graal players get a better ping on phone than pc. That’s because of the way Graal runs on pc.
I’m not sure wither Colin is right or wrong because I did race a lot of mobile players as a pc player in different directions and we had the same speed. But either way it’s pretty easy to differ a pc player from a speed hacker.  

“Horizontal and Vertical speed is .6 tiles/sec and diagonal is .84 tiles/sec. That's a big difference, especially to a script that can only see numbers. Changing your normal speed from .6 to .84 is a big difference, visually. It's just harder to see because it's diagonal.

Detecting speed hacks in general play(outside of closed environments like sparring) is practically impossible because of the variety of ways a player can move outside of just walking. It would take quite a lot of work to script it to exclude all these methods. Players jumping down cliffs, players being hit and flying back, changing levels, being warped but not changing levels so on and so forth. Not to mention hacks these days tend to exploit framerates instead of changing players position. Graal runs at 20fps(frames per second). Hack it to run at 40fps and suddenly your player is moving twice as fast as everyone else.

The problem aren't obvious speed hackers, it's the not-so-obvious ones. The ones that change their speed only slightly faster and toggle it constantly. Since Classic doesn't implement autobanning a staff has to see the warnings and check it out. If it's toggled or something they may just leave after a while of not seeing anything. I have a lot of mobile devices (Literally a crap ton,don't ask why because not even i know why, Most are dead on the self but I admit I got a problem lmao) i got the IPhone X, Google pixel, Razer phone, Samsung, Ect. I don't thank they are smoother, I think maybe in CERTIAN aspects of the game, due to the fact you can save files without needing to download them every time you restart, like PC, But in overall player movement i can't say that's smoother, I definitely notice PC is a bit better and doesn't suffer things like lagspikes(Atleast for me) or ever seem to slowdown a bit on the clients side.

To avoid getting IP banned yes but that’s not what bother us (spar community mainly) Since you use a different country’s IP address you’re going to get the ping you would have as if you was actually living there. Which is where the advantage come, by using VPN you can get whatever ping you want (only higher than your current ping) to gain extra delay.
