Bro-guy, you're doing it wrong. DS Lites go for $30-$40 on eBay, and most games sell for at least $10. That's $70~ dollars you can spend on anything that accepts PayPal as opposed to just Gamestop credit. Everyone and their grandmas know Gamestop's trade value is awful, but for some reason, everyone still does it.

Wtf are you on? An NES is worth $5 max. They have no value whatsoever. There are so many Front-Loaders out there. eBay does not have accurate prices. SuperMario/DuckHunt is so common that it has $1 value. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it expensive. And BattleToads isn't that rare. It's more common then say, Little Sampson or The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak.

eBay=inaccurate. They think it's old=rare.

Material or initial value doesn't mean ****, market value is the only thing that matters in the market (go figure), and if people are willing to pay $50 for an NES system or $30 for Pokemon Crystal, then that is what the game is worth. eBay has the most accurate prices because it's an exact representation of what people are willing to pay for a certain item in the current market. What you believe something should be worth is absolutely meaningless unless people will buy it at that price.

Of course old doesn't directly equal good, but it doesn't mean some old things can't be considered or valued highly. It's what people individually value; if the majority of consumers are willing to pay $30 for Pokemon Crystal, then Pokemon Crystal is worth $30 in the current market. An NES game system may be worth $5 when considering materials or the fact that its completely outdated, but if people are paying $60+ for it (which they are), then that is how much it will sell for - that is how much money you will receive for selling one - that is what the item is worth. It's not hard to understand.

Reselling and fluctuations in market prices are not about the material worth of an item; it's about the worth and relative value of an item by the average consumer at a given time.
