Good show, Alex didn't deserve to be on the tapes though. Like come on Hannah, he just made a list of girl with good asses lol. Also, sucks that Alex (one of the guys who did nothing much) ended up taking his own life. Also, I hate kourtney

The show uses suicide as a plot device almost to a fault. I haven't read the book so I don't know how they tackle the subject there, but they did it horribly in the show. The only part where a message actually gets across in the show is where Clay finally talks to Skye. In my head I was yelling "FINALLY, A MESSAGE FOR THE AUDIENCE, BE NICE TO PEOPLE". They say they're showing suicide is bad, but that's not entirely true, the show could've done a better job of doing so. But, on the other hand, the show isn't advocating for suicide like some people say AT ALL. I don't understand how a fictional show can make suicide more prevalent. It may not have got the message across that suicide is BAD, but it doesn't say you should do it either. Overall, the show is cool, I guess. The fact that they're coming out with a second season (focusing on school shootings) is just dumb and shouldn't be a thing. The show had a hard time getting an actual message across, but it did bring awareness to suicide, rape, and bullying in school, so I appreciate that. |
