One might say the same about PC vs Mac back in the day... Bill Gates decided to advertise. I still only know about Beats and Skullcandy, as well as random sony crap... Which is why I feel that the list might be a good idea for others. Some people aren't born with a list of headphone companies in their mind... I know Apple sells some, but they don't look all that great.. Or comfortable for that matter... Also, I found the other link... this thread has more info.. x.X; Actually the other one doesn't have anything... what happen to the list. @.@;; |

lol I thought you were making a reference "Like a boss" at first... yeah, I've slightly heard of the name Bose.. once or twice.. If I was asked, I wouldn't know what they were though.. This is why I would think a thread like this would be good with a slightly organized list of headphones... |

We have a Bose home theatre system. It's a really cheap one but nice. The Bose headphones are really nice. I want to buy the $900 Bose and Yahama AV receiver sound system for my computer one day.

If you can get them for 60 dollars, get them. Then sell them online for $200 and get some good headphones. Because in all honesty, there are headphones under $50 that sound as good, if not better than any headphone in the Beats line. Here's accurate pricing for the Beats, in my opinion. Beats Solo/Mixr: $20 Beats Tour IEMs: $25 Beats 'Studio' 'HD' 'High-fidelity': $50 (being generous here) Beats Pro: $170 - Because these are decent, but any headphone at the $450 price point blows them out of the water. And for Skullcandy's house sound, the highs are extremely aggressive and tinny, mids are almost non-existant, and the lows are a far cry from any IEM at the price range (Ink'd might be an exception, maybe). In short, Skullcandy's ear-piercing treble makes my ears bleed, then the Beats sound like the cotton balls I just put in my ears to stop the bleeding from the Skullcandies. |

To the top. And I'll have to disagree with any statement made defending Bose. They have great noise-cancelling headphones, but everything else (for their price) is subpar compared to other audio companies. Same goes for Skullcandy. Skullcandy's house sound seems really repetitive in all of their products. My old $60 FMJs sounded just like my friend's $20 Ink'd. I guess they aren't horrible headphones... but any $60 Sennheiser will destroy any $60 Skullcandy. The Beats problem really extends to Skullcandy and Bose just as hard. |

Actually, the Monoprice 8320 is reputed to be a very, VERY good earphone for the price. A well-known Head-Fier estimates their sound quality to be in the $60-70 tier. Good job Dusty. So yes, I think I would rate them above Skullcandy. How are they Dusty? |

I'm not someone who cares that much about sound. I always buy cheap headphones, though they're better than what I usually get. I haven't bothered to properly seal out the outside sound like advised though(by filling the ear-bits with foam from earplugs or something).
