This is the biggest slam I've ever seen on metacritic.

As for the critic reviews, it's hopeful to see there are a few that aren't paid off to give high reviews.

Why would a critic give the game a bad review though? Critics play these games before they're launched, so chances are the critics had much better experiences than the average consumer did.

They have criticized parts of the game that are not so good, not including the forced online drm.

Game is also getting bombed on Amazon. I bet EA won't learn anything from this. They'll probably just forgo ever making another SC.

I've heard reports that the situation is getting resolved and improving.

Obviously it's going to have bad reviews because people haven't been able to play it. The game is still a phenomenal game and I still want to get it. It's just a matter of waiting out all of the connection issues.  

So... they have no intention of earning back our trust any time soon?

Even if this SC is amazing I wouldn't buy it for the sole reason that I wouldn't want to support EA's business model they have going for the game. It's absolutely terrible.
You don't even own the game, you're just paying to play on EA's servers.
Let me remind you this is a single player game...why is this tom-****ery even necessary? I'd love to hear EA's response to that.
