Wow.. Why does everyone skip the whole Zelda Online part and just spits out random non-existent logic which is repeated the same time over and over again? Listen carefully you so-called "Geniuses" e.e Graal Classic is a Paint Job.. It doesn't tell any difference from Zelda other than the graphics (Half of what seem to still look like Zelda sprites)... The gameplay is the exact same thing... No difference... Why do other companies/people fall for crap like this and call them original games? Because the paint jobs are decent/good enough to tell one from each other apart... Thats why you people do not call it "Copyright"... Admit it, you know its a paint job... What could be considered copyright is that if you go and sell that delibird head that used to sell.. Pretty much, thats use of character/property... Now you see why you people are defending this game... Because you know its a good paint job, you so want to call the game original... Make it look different from Zelda Online (Which it used to be)... Sure, not much of you can tell if the game is Copyright or not... But the answer can be debatable... |

I already said that Graal is a ****ing Zelda clone. No one is denying that. However, you can't sue someone for cloning gameplay!
Did you even see the 3D Dot Heroes gameplay I posted? This hero goes around, exploring a lush green overworld, sectioned off into small areas(you know, like the original Zelda), finding dungeons that look strangely like Zelda dungeons... killing giant octopuses and spiders that hop on four legs(hey, doesn't Zelda have monsters like that?) and OMG HE HAS BOMBS AND BOOMERANGS!!!! This game was somewhat recently sold, in stores, for the PS3. Gameplay does not fall under copyright laws. I'm through talking to you. You're spouting more **** than a septic tank rupture and it's just more of the same each time you post with nothing to back it up. |

They're right. Zelda: LttP looked ****ing awesome. Graal looks like crap. And yes, it is just a paintjob, no one ever denied that! They took Zelda graphics and drew over them. However, they don't really look like Zelda graphics. Sure, the houses are the same dimensions, the walls are the same perspective, the cliffs have identical layouts... but that doesn't mean the final image looks the same, from an artistic perspective. The designs going on are quite different. This is like saying that because the characters are just paintjobs of Link, that they look the same. Fung Si Yan(the noob character) looks nothing like Link. Just like the trees looking nothing like the trees from LttP. Yes, they're the same proportions, but they still look very different, and that's all that matters. No one here ever tried to deny what Graal is, just that legally Nintendo can't do anything about it. This seems oddly appropriate right now: http://dustyshouri.dreamhosters.com/noobs/images/noobsig_5.png (Unsupported image host) |

Ohhh... Okie then...
And to be honest, Graal Classic at the old times was actually fun... Because we discovered the things we have in Graal Classic now (which isn't interesting much as before) |

TBH, this is good for us. If anybody could just copyright/patent their gameplay ideas then the game world would be a very stale place. Do you remember when Madden bought the rights to the NFL? They killed every other football franchise out there. This meant no other games could rise up and provide an alternative medium, and suddenly football games got stale because Madden didn't have to try to win anyone over, there was no one else providing competition. Imagine this with every game type out there. No more RPGs other than Final Fantasy. No more First Person Shooters other than Call of Duty. Copyright is useful for what it's intended: not letting others ride off your hard work and fame. Nintendo has earned its place where it is, and without copyright/trademarks anyone could go, spend 5 minutes on a game and try to sell it just by naming it Zelda and hoping people don't notice. No effort on their part, just riding the tail of a popular title. The Zelda CDI games are a great example of this. The publishers simply had the license to call the games Zelda, but they weren't made by Nintendo. They were horrible, but they probably sold a few copies because it had the name "Zelda" on the front. |
