Reason pot is frowned down upon is because there are a group of idiots(mostly middle schoolers from what I've seen) who abuse the substance.
I personally wouldn't do it, but I probably won't judge you if you do it, unless you think that doing it is "cool".

I understand what you're saying, though. Many people use it incorrectly, then brag about doing it. It's not something to display to others, and it certainly shouldn't be portrayed as something you must do to be "cool."

Agreed. Though I use it for fun. Anyone who knows me in person has no idea I use it (other than my brother and my roommate).
It's much better than alcohol. Ever since I started using cannabis, I don't drink.
I understand it's not such a great change, but it's a rather large step to better health than ruining my liver.

Look I have to be blunt I have probably been more involved in the drug scene from an early f'n age than all of you. I spent years thinking pot was the most harmless and innocent drug. And i loved bein high. Now... I look at the facts of my life

My grades dropped immensely durring critical high school years due to pot making me feel "too cool for school"

I would have $1000's of extra money if I never spent money on pot/paraphernalia.

My friends began to smoke ciggaretes and hang out at a trap house all day smoking pot. Everything revolved around smoking and getting money to smoke. They weren't having addiction cravings like they would with meth/heroin- but it's all they cared to do. Two of them used to get grades but after smoking all the time chose to drop out. It is now senior year and while most of the regular kids are graduating/going to college, these bums have no friends and smoke solitary in their house. Trust me, they rarely EVER go outside, and they are in complete bad health not worrying about what they eat or getting exercise.

It is also a gateway drug. It is. It's true.. It doesn't mean if you smoke pot you will do other drugs. It means, from a general viewpoint, pot leads to curiosity of other drugs in a large percentage of users. Nobody starts with heroin or coke or meth, its always pot.
I even remember thinking smoking legal and doing acid was not that big of a deal. I actually am happy I have done LSD in my life because the immense trips it gave me caused me to think about my life and I started to work out and eat good and such.

All in all- weed is very medicinally AND recreationally beneficial, but it can easy be abused and ruin the lives of people who do not have the maturity to limit how much they devote their lives to it. My life would be COMPLETELY different if I never smoked. different friends and reputation and everything. Don't downplay it as "harmless". It may not be medically harmful, it may have benefits, but it can set many people down less-than-desirable paths.

Marijuana and THC should definitely be limited legally to adults. I personally think any teens who haven't tried pot are probably boring and no fun, but I wouldn't want my kids to go down the path of getting into a stoner "trend". If you are not contributing a lot to society, my opinion is you have NO business wasting your time and money smoking pot.

On the up side, being high is great fun for things like music festivals/cuddling/movies/video games and it is much safer and better in EVERY way than alcohol is.

I agree with pretty much all of this, weed is for sure a gateway drug, but if you're a smart druggie you wont do any drug that is extremely harmful to your body(heroin, coke etc.). Also ever since i started smoking pot my grades actually went up because my mom only lets me go out of the house if i have A's and B's 📚. Also yeah i spent over $2000 on weed since this school year started and thats a whole nother long story of how im ****ed lol. Btw marijuana and THC are the same thing 😉

Kind of like saying "I walk while using my cellphone and have run into multiple people. Therefore, it is bad for everyone and should be limited."
I've been using cannabis for a very long time now, yet I've got 2 jobs (mentioned earlier), holding a 3.8 Uni GPA, and I'm totally fine.
Besides, studies show it has no effect on the brain.

If you aren't stupid, you won't do stupid things.
Never once would I ever in my life try acid or heroin. That's just stupid and no where near logical.

Marijuana actually holds a couple different chemicals that bring out the complete affect you feel, like CBD. I used THC concentrates for awhile, like dabs and hash oil. I don't really consider dabs "as marijuana" therefore hence, THC xD.

Same thing applies in laws. Georgia has a pending bill to allow the use of medicinal THC concentrates in patients with severe seizures and such. Marijuana in normal form will still be illegal to possess, though.

First off, I said these were the facts of my life. Not everybody's. Secondly, I didn't say it affects everyone the same way as i described my friends- I simply said it isn't as harmless as everyone makes it out to be. It has a high potential to take people into lifestyles that are less than ideal. Most people, especially young teens, have no idea how it will affect their life. They shouldn't start smoking hella weed because they hear everyone talk about how completely harmless it is. Thirdly, studies differ. Many studies have came out that say it affects short term memory and also that it changes the shape, reception, and general speed of the hippocampus. I pulled a quick one, although there are dozens out there.

ps: the thing you said about acid (LSD) being illogical. How so? If you can use your own accomplishments as reasoning why "cannabis" is completely fine, then I can use Steve Job's accomplishments as to why "LSD" is completely fine.

Which, by the way, I find pretty much any drugs to have negative affects- despite possible positive ones. LSD and cannabis included. All drugs find ways of becoming a large part of your life- even seemingly innocent ones like caffeine. Everyone should be taught to be conscious of that

Although I've done absolutely no research on Acid or its effects, it's pretty well known (at least, here in California) to be terrible for the brain.
I just want to have fun, not ruin my life. I don't see why anyone would feel the need to use LED (again, I've done no research).

I did research a while ago and pure LSD(not laced) is actually not harmful. ;)  

I think doing any drug is so ****ing stupid, sorry if I offend you. Why would you even want to do that? Drugs can take control of your life and nobody wants to be around you, even if you "only smoke weed". Having your brain under such an influence is such a horrible thing in my opinion. I see no upsides of doing drugs, I only see the downsides, because that's all they have. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I am against any kind of drug or influence.

Another question: Kendama, how in the world did you get exposed to drugs at such an early age?

Most of the reason I resort to cannabis for fun is that it helps me to focus on programming much better. I could get so much more progress done in 3 hours of working on my programs while high than not.
It's also not psychological - I don't believe I need to get high to do work, I just know it's more efficient at many times.
Plus, it makes error much funnier, which is where the fun in programming while high comes from.

It is not physically addictive, but it is physiologically addictive. The amount of bum stoners in the world should be able to tie at least some correlation, whether weak or strong, into your head. I would like to end this conversation here too, as I used to share your opinion fullheartedly and I could potentially argue this debate on either side of the spectrum- both sides have fighting points.
