Well I already have 3 threads for stuff I make and I'd feel weird making a 4th so this is the most relevant thread I have for this imo. *eh hem* I've wanted to get back into sculpting again, but since I don't go to school anymore I no longer have free art supplies and... most importantly... a kiln. I also quite enjoyed making paper mache sculptures while I was in school, but those were more larger-scale and used wood and a crapton of paper and stuff...so... I got some air-drying clay and paper mache supplies and I'm going to sculpt a base model with the clay, then paper mache over it. Primer, paint, finish. Here's progress: ![]() And Dusty made this: ![]() For those that have never seen the stuff I used to make while in high school, here they is. First thing I ever sculpted with clay (and also what I'm considering to remake because it sucks hardcore) Spoiler
Last clay sculpture I made before I sadly had to leave this glorious class: Spoiler
Now about the paper mache I made...I've only ever made 2 sculptures, one of which I still haven't finished yet because I literally just barely finished paper mache-ing it when school ended...though I can't find any pictures of it for some reason...If I ever find them I'll post them I only have to paint it.The other, however, is right here. Was the first paper mache sculpture I ever made and probably the most fun I ever had in my entire school experience. The only reason I would ever wish to be in high school again would be to make more paper mache sculptures... Spoiler
It got in honorable mention in the art show Here is all the progress I went through to make it: Spoiler
So ye paper mache sculptures are really freaking fun and I thought it would be fun to try doing them again, but on a smaller scale. If I ever make more sculptures I guess I'll post them here. |

Tbh if you go to a local school I'm sure the art teacher would be more than willing to allow you to use the kiln, especially when you both have similar passions.
