When displayed in the HUD there is a 5 pixel gap yes. Smaller hearts aren't really used because Classic does not utilize more than 3 full hearts. However, the full small heart is used for the icon in the "Change State" button.

Message icons are displayed in the button when you receive a message(So you'll have the virtualkey background button, a head icon and then the PM button overlaying the head).

How would I add more definition? I've never made or worked with editing before so this is new to me. Would I cut off more of the cupcake? Thx for the help 4-Lom

Maybe make them a bit larger Also, if there's "pure" black or white in your graphic it might be an issue?

Ps - I'm not super well versed in graphics, just giving my two cents!

If you want to fill out the other parts of the state, sure! But I mean that stuff isn't use at all on Classic as of now, so would seem pointless to do imo. But you can if you want lmao.

So the numbers would not effect, say, the bomb /arrow counter? Just want to be sure

No, I don't think so.

Also yes please don't use pure black or white as that will show up transparent in-game.

How do you make it as a transparent background?

First you must make sure the parts you want transparent don't have any color, ex. you have to erase everything so you can see a grey+dark gray checkerboard pattern (might differ depending on what you use to pixel) then you MUST save as a png. If you posted what you needed to be transparent i could just do it for you if you'd like.

Select the background with the magicwand and remove it by clicking on "cut"

Try and give the whole kind of sign a sorta "shine" stripe(s) and maybe have the fireman hat cast a shadow over the face? Or shade some depth into it, it's looking too plain right now, but I love love the message states they are smexy

Also you could maybe try not using black inside the fireman hat, the black kind of takes away from it
