I dont understand why people feel like the have to devote themselves to one platform. I don't have to "switch" because I play games on anything connected to a screen. I prefer consoles in particular because the latest games are guaranteed to run on my console no matter what. I dont have to worry about hardware upgrades, drivers, or incompatibility issues. Can an 8 year old PC run Crysis 3? Nope. Can a 360 or PS3? Yes. I prefer looking at a tv than my face being 6 inches from a screen. I prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard, ergonomically its superior in every way and more comfortable. I prefer my couch over a desk chair. Its preference and pc gaming vs console gaming are entirely different experiences. Its comparing apples to oranges like Dusty said. |

One thing I do find disappointing is that a bonus of consoles is they didn't have to bother with OS crap. ALL hardware power was accessible from games. Now consoles are getting more and more like PCs, and getting less of that dedicated raw power.

Well consoles have been pretty much pcs for a long time now. That is why ps3 didn't work so well because it did not use the pc stuff and Xbox did.

I read somewhere that the new XBox will reward you in shopping points if you watch commercials. In order to prove that you're actually watching the commercial, the Kinect will "watch you" and track your eyes and ensure they are facing the television. I can handle Google tracking everything I do online but this freaks me out. |

Kinect can be turned completely off because people like me don't want my data sent to third party companies and feel like they can see me naked through that thing. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/...sted-nightmare |

The last I heard the kinect must be plugged in for your Xbox to work which in turn means the kinect is on too, I'm guessing. The data collected by Microsoft could be worth millions to market research companies. |
