I'd rather vote for a person with better character any day. Even if it doesn't benefit many people, Obama seemed to be the better candidate.

This is why Obama won, and that isn't a bad thing. He's (more of) a genuine human being, while Romney and half the republican party are self-righteous dinosaurs living in the ice age who put their own outdated beliefs before what the people want.  

Not too sure about this but is Obamacare like the British NHS with free healthcare?

That's all politicians, Obama doesn't care about you, nor does Romney, but whatever party you belong to doesn't regulate your selfishness. His policies are based off of reputation and history, there's no "human" anywhere near the white house.
