Ugh its so hard to carry teams in plat. At least in bronze and silver people make enough mistakes that you can make up for your own team's.

In platinum there aren't really enough opportunies to carry your team when every lane is dieing left and right.

Platinum is the same as Bronze Silver & Gold, just remember you'll need a smaller champ pool.

As I've been told, when you get to plat you need to severely restrict your champ pool, pick maybe 5 or 6 champs to use and begin using only them in ranked, try to pick ones of every role so you can cover all bases. For example, here would be my pick if I wasnt crappy as Ezreal being built as a tank (that means you should make your own and not copy my list) :

1) Ezreal
2) Malphite
3) Leona
4) Kha' Zix
5) Teemo
6) Zed

This isn't my real list, it's just a mock-up.

You should get the idea of it though, take 6 champs you can play well (try for two ADC, a support, and a mid and top lane or something like that)

As soon as you start narrowing down your roster to 5 or 6 champs, you should see quick improvement. Also be sure your making mastery lists for each role you play so you can get stat buffs behind every play.

I find that I play better with a wider champion pool. If I play a champion too much i get overconfident and overstep my ability. When picking unfamiliar champions I tend to do better for some reason... I guess im just different.

Just don't become like BoxBox or a one-trick pony that can't even play any other champion besides one.

I wouldn't wanna be utterly good at one champion but garbage at every other champion.

Actually it depends on what you're after. If you want to play in a higher tier game, and fast, becoming really good with one hero is the way to go. You'll be exposed to higher skill brackets and learn a lot about how you should play the game in general. You can always improve other heroes down the line.

I did this on Dota 2 and I would play against some competitive players even though I only knew how to play like 5-6 heroes really well.

Thing is you need to play each hero 1-2 times so you know how to play with/against them. predicting your enemy is the key to victory.
