Fun fact: people used to set up blockades around the islands to keep others from getting on, by using boxes. It was pretty much like liberating and establishing your own kingdom.

You could have pet noobs. Basically, you buy fences and set them up in your house in a square formation. You rotate one of the fences as a door, so that when you lure a noob in the fence you quickly rotate the door portion and lock the noob inside. Keep in mind this was when there was no "out" button, and barely anyone knew what unstick me was.
This was also a great way to steal shells from people. You tell the noob that you won't let them out until they pay all of their shells.

When the hat shop on the dock by the bridge (forgot the name) was first released, it caused perhaps the most amount of lag in the history of era. It was documented on Youtube and there were at least like 300 comments from different people saying, "I'm in the video!"

The first holiday shop was the 2011 Valentine's Day shop. I remember it was pretty much just a heart shaped rug, a skateboard, heart bombs, a pink feather hat, and a red couch/chair.
If you had a three letter abbreviated name, you were considered a legend by default. I don't know why, you just kinda were.
