You have discovered the Elo system! This system has always been there, but it was invisible. Only recently has the command been added to show the rating instead of the default server one. Some people could argue that Elo is more accurate - I agree. Here and here, Stefan explains the connection between the Elo system and the scores you see on the leaderboards. The first number is your Elo score, while the second is your deviation. You start at 1500/350. The minimum Elo is 0 and the maximum is 3000, but the minimum deviation is 75 and the maximum is 350. The deviation goes up by 1 every 24 hours after your last spar. When you spar, your deviation decreases, getting closer to 75 the more often you spar. When you win a spar, your Elo increases. It goes up by more when the opponent has a higher score, and goes up by a little less when they have a lower score. If they have a really high score, your score will skyrocket! If you have a really high deviation, your score change will be astronomical. As you move closer to a deviation of 75, your score change will be a lot smaller, because it takes into account the recent spars you've taken part in. Basically, the first number is your Elo rating, while the second number measures about how accurate that score is, with 75 being the lowest and 350 being the highest. Generally, 2000 is a great score, while 1700 is good, but not fantastic. I'm sure someone knows where to find the Elo calculation formula for Graal, but I cannot.. Hope I helped, and let me know if you don't understand anything. EDIT: Rufus is right, and I spent my time typing this out for nothing. T_T You can also use "showlatency" or "showping". It all means the same thing!

I was told for years it was Elo, even Stefan said so.. Since when was it Glicko? It seems to fit better, I'll be honest. EDIT: It looks like server scores on the leaderboard are written in Elo, and the "showrating" command exposes the Glicko format. Please correct me if I'm wrong again, but I was never aware of the main difference between them. They are only mostly similar. My apologies to anyone who obtained false information from me. Glicko is a bit more foreign to me than Elo.. |
