I thought of this idea where we could use the metal detectors in an event dort of like the treasure chest event on Classic.

What happens is an admin will send out a message saying they have buried some (whatever the zone version of treasure chests is, maybe time capsules) in a specific area and everyone will have to go there and use their metal detector to try and find them. There would also be a pop up message at the bottom of the screen to say if you are getting warmer.  

!!! I like this idea! :-D Although I never play Classic so I wouldnt know how it actually looks z-z  

Its basically the same but in classic you dig holes with shovels

the metal detector on zone is almost the equivalent to the shovel on classic

Not even close, the metal detector is a redesigned trash pick from era, a shovel is a completely different thing.
