Save $Money$ On Petrol!
Hello Guys, If you want to learn how to save a few pennies (which later adds up to a HUGE sum) on petrol, carry on reading... Everyone knows the state of petrol, the price per liter is ALWAYS increasing! Thier is a way in which you could actually be saving money. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...prices-007.jpg As you may or may not have noticed, the petrol price at the moment in the uk for unleaded stands at 141p for liter. Correct right? NO! If you look carefully enough, it's actually 141.9! Do you see whats going on! They are literally STEALING 0.9 pence (uk currency) from us! This may not seem to be a lot for you rich guys out their. BUT, on average, a typical visit to the petrol station for my dad is about £20. This means they are 'bumming' me that 18p! This also may not seem a lot AGAIN for you rich guys out their bit try and multiply that by the amount of times you visit the petrol station. That's ALOT OF MONEY which the big petrol and oil names such as 'Esso' are making! So what I did, I asked them an extremely stupid but intensional question 'Do you round that 0.9p up of down'. The guy looked at me, gave me a very dirty look, and said 'UOOP!'. So here's where my trick comes in, 1. Fill in 6 litres of petrol. 2. Pay up. 3. Full in 6 litres of petrol again if you wish 4. Pay up. 5. Continue this until you are done So, because they round up and 0.9 X 6 = 5.4p, THEY HAVE TO ROUND DOWN!!! So I actually save 0.4p!*victory* This may again seem very little but times that to the amount of times you/parents/etc visit te petrol station and see the savings. Lmao, I know it is very little but eh, this is how they make their 'free' money. Do you fancy giving them that 0.9p every time? I don't. Hope this saves you guys some money. I'm not sure about the system for petrol in the USA but if it is the same try it see the difference for yourself

When you're dealing with money, you always round up. Even if it's 1.4 you round it up to 2.

In the US, if you buy gas for 3.589 a gallon (three dollars and 58.9 cents) its rounded up to 59 cents. If your decimal is out of a dollar, you pay the exact (ex: 3.45 you'd pay three dollars and fortyfive cents), so I don't understand how this will save you money. Might be a currency difference but I'm certain you'd round up.
