How to recolour pixel art on paint.net
Well hello there again. Today im going to teach some of you pixel artists how to recolour! Its actually pretty cool when you see the outcomes its also useful to keep testing out colors. When you recolor some other peoples work NEVER claim it as your own! Ok back on topic. Firstly You open up the file. http://i50.tinypic.com/29z6c07.png (Unsupported image host) Next you select the bucket tool and then on the optiions at the top bar tap the bulb and it will turn into a globe. This means when it is in globe form where ever you fill that color will go to this color in the whole artwork and for the bulb it will fill the pile of that one color. The threshold means power of tool example if its on 0 the only that color will be filled and for 50 the color and similiar colors will get filled. http://i47.tinypic.com/21lo3uq.png (Unsupported image host)http://i46.tinypic.com/2dha0rd.png (Unsupported image host) Finally you click on the color you want to recolor, remember you have to have your color selected in the colors section! http://i48.tinypic.com/2z6dysj.png (Unsupported image host) You now have succesfully recolored your pixel art. Some of you are thinking that im stupid for teaching them how to recolor but i think its good because i learnt how to make graphics from recoloring>edits>major edits>making graphics~ Hadi

There's nothing worse than a bad recolour to be honest. I agree with both of you, I learned the same as well. |

Also, I just noticed you didn't indicate the program you were using. Because the normal paint (which I have) does not have that cool function. So recoloring for me could take hours depending on how much detail I put. The program Hadi used, for those interested, is Paint.Net. I don't know where to get it but I believe it's free.

you know that the community is pro in recoloring? you should rather make a tutorial how to make your own stuff without recoloring

Well, I'd rather a good recolour than a bad original, IMO. And, there's nothing wrong with editing/recolouring if you don't take credit for the original and say you recoloured it. cya. |
