Well, I asked some staff if they could put in word for an option to turn it off. No reply, just them running around with their fanboys trying to make their in-game character look better. Thanks, oh so helpful Zone Patrol.  

They brodcasted it like 5 times, that there will be a poll for an option to turn it off.

It's a squad emblem beneath your character. It's quite cool.  

Why wouldn't there be an option to turn it off?

Because squads are going to play a huge role in future updates so Stefan implemented it gaining the idea from the emblems under your character from the PvP maps. Like stated, a poll will be added for option to turn it off.

It works with emblems because theyre small and not intrusive. Squad images are just giant boxy squares that don't have a distinct image that small. So it doesn't work as an emblem for guilds.  

A poll is not the right way to approach the problem. If 45% of the people vote in the poll no, is it still going to be forced? Just give people who don't want it the option to turn it off and leave it at that. You're not going to get any results from a poll that will allow you to make a "good" decision whether or not to force it on everybody.

Fully agree, however this is one of Stefan's things and sometimes what he says goes without taking into account other viewpoints. Which is why the poll will be added as it is the compromise Stefan had made.
