Is there a way to optimize it? I created a guild for the first time and just used a picture from my phone just to test what it would look like it. It gets shrunken and pixelated pretty bad. Is there a preferred set of dimensions to go by? I'm trying to edit one together right now.

I think if you put 'width=100 height=100' in the same < >'s as the picture that should set the dimensions reasonably well.  

just tinker with the sizes between 100 and 200 you can go more than 100 w and h and have the pic bigger and still fit and look good.
