The 3ds is only 160 $, but I really want a wii u. I figured the 3ds would be better because its portable and has a lot more games on it, and pikmin 3 and earthbound and all the good games won't be out till August and later, and my birthday is in August. So which one should I get?  

The WiiU is awnesome but need more games.
Pokemon comming on 3DS, most of WiiU games are on 3ds, and not alot of games comming out in wiiu, you should take 3ds ;)  

That's what I was saying, pikmin 3 and earthbound won't even be out until mid-August which is around my birthday, SSB4 won't be out untill 2014.

Also yoshis new island is coming to 3DS.  

It depends on what you want it for. If you have friends that often come over and enjoy games like mario, monster hunter, ect. then it might be a good idea to get a WiiU. But if you're somewhat of a solo gamer, i would say go for a 3ds, as it has some great titles, with great campaign, but lacking a bit in multiplayer.
