Staff Friends

Ok so I casually check the gang spar scores and was looking at some of the 'admin gangs' and I noticed something. People like Layerd, Reno, etc were in 5+ admin gangs and i presume are good friends with the staff. This obviously gives them a better chance of getting hired, etc. But how do people become friends with the staff when if you pm them your just wasting their time?

know them before they were admin,
have a friend that can tell them who you are
ect.

Here are some facts:

Reno is a friend of mine.
He does not own an iDevice.
I have known him for years.
I suggested for him to be hired back when i was a PR.
He was hired not because he is my friend, but because he is perfect for the job. all i did is vouch for him.
He has proven we made the right decision in hiring him and is probably one of the most hard working PR's we have these days. (Not that the others don't work hard.)

That's true, I've been staff on many servers and have been playing/working on Graal servers for a long time, I like to think I was hired for my skills as an FAQ/General customer-support guy.
I did actually apply for the job the same way the rest of the player-base did

Being friends with staff members does not mean they are 100% guaranteed to be staff members. DON'T WORK LIKE THAT, SON!

I've known lots of staff members before they become admins, especially on iClassic. They all get tied up in their admin guilds and forgot about me. I knew Pimpsy about six months before he was an admin. He forgot about me around a week after being an admin. One person who didn't forget was Kondie

we still play Graal together.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me.
Jessie recommended me because she knew I was ready for this kind of a responsibility, not because we were "Friends."

Player99, to prove that you will not get hired just because you're friends with staff, I was and still am friends with a lot of the staff (even before they were hired) and I wasn't hired :d Just work hard and help others.

Yea. I doubt alot of them would be hired if they didn't have a staff member vouching for them. This is more of a problem on I classic, where staff claim that their friends just happen to be the most qualified for the job. Most staff guilds are like staff training camps. Just proving once more staff that have guilds should not be allowed to take part in the hiring process.

Also, if your the virtual bf/ gf of a staff member, chances are suddenly you happen to be the most qualified for a staff position!
