House of the Month
Hey there! I took the initiative a while back, after some communication with folks, to try and alleviate some of the "AWESOME CODESHOP ADMIN CODES JUST ENTERRR" business (are they considered among the 'bank riff raff' that I read another post about?). This has encountered some success, and I would just like to plug the idea here and see what people think! I started running my guild last month with the concept of having guild membership as a sort of 'entry form' to a contest that hands out a small number of gralats and a statue at the ol' guild mansion for a house designed with a particular theme in mind. This month is our second, and there are MANY requests to join beyond my limit of 25 in the guild! This could be an area that the administrative 'powers that be' could pick up on in order to boost furniture sales and player enthusiasm/participation in house design! Anyone interested, feel free to hit me up in game for October membership! |

Well 25 is a good number.. I don't want to have to look at 150 houses come the end of the month judging period...

Are you the only judge or is there like a "panel" or group of people that judge the houses? Their rank in the guild should be Judge. Also is it just player houses or can you submit a gh as well? That could be an idea for a sub guild. one division or guild for player houses and one division or guild for guild houses.

Well I had tried that in a previous incarnation of the guild, but it turned out to be really REALLY difficult to get everyone organized and to have their houses done and the judges looking at them all AND somehow getting their votes across... So I am the judge... and I pick the themes... at this point.

horse of the mouth? no... but it could be a good addition if some one with mystical powers could generate some kind of similar event... with all their mysticalness...

@ 4-lom Are you doing a special holiday addition of House of the month? It would be neat to see houses done up with Halloween furniture/decorations.

Wow forgot about this till I was browsing randomly... YES we did do a halloween one... Asteria won, as a matter of fact! And the current one is obstacle course... could have done something holiday related, but I haven't seen much in the way of holiday themed furnishings this year other than that big ol tree... |

Thanks for having me come check it out. For anybody who hasn't seen it, The obstacle course is sick. Its what inspired me to make my mini quest obstacleish current GH set up that actually starts in my player house.
