"Ignore Guild Chat" Option
I'm pretty sure you've all just wish you could ignore all the chatting going on in the guild, whether it's if you got into an argument with the guild or you just don't want to listen to spam (especially while towering) so why not make an option for this? It could also help if you just don't want to listen to spam or you're waiting for an event message.

This has been suggested before, and I agree with this. There are definitely times where I could see this being of use.

Sadly the only option there is the literal guild chat button, but it doesn't block out the players that spam the entire thing.

Yeah. This would be a great idea. There should also be an option to choose who you want to ignore, since there might be just 1 person doing all the spamming(which is not important) and blocking the whole guild chat would certainly block out important things you might have missed out. But another person suggested a guild chat history - that might come in handy if you wanted to see if you missed anything important.

Well if it's only one or two people you want to keep out of guild chat, you can always just block those people. If you want to keep most of the guild out of guild chat then this could possibly be useful.

What if you're towering and want to avoid the spam? |

you seem to support the freedom to allow yourself to ignore guild chat, yet you're completely against the horrific act of a guild leader prohibiting certain members from using guild messages "I want to be able to do things for myself, but others shouldn't be able to do things for their guilds" |

And to the people who said to just go off-tag, obviously we all know that's an option. There are situations in which a person wouldn't want to go off-tag. But did that really need to be pointed out? |

Your idea can already be solved by kicking or blocking the person. But for me, you can't go off tag if you're towering. And if you're in a family guild like I am, you can't block people. |

What about just adding "Guild Chat Permission" button's in the powers bar. I know this doesn't seem "that good of an idea" but maybe for the guilds that tower and have spam so that only leaders could talk?
