The problem is the age of the housing system and the fact that many of the original scripters that worked on it are gone. The system is super complex and creating new levels/altering the ones that exist would require a completely new system to be put in place. That sounds awesome to some, but what Dusty has mentioned is that creating a whole new system might result in a lot of furniture getting destroyed/lost from player collections. It would be super problematic... and very difficult. |

My alternative solution was have another type of house, basically leaving the old system as it is in place, and incorporate the new type of house in with more changeable features, but exclude it from being anything to do with the previous housing system... sort of like a personal dungeon creator if you will...

Personally, I like the current housing system. They've refined it enough so that a LOT is possible. I'm sure we've all seen some very creative designs. I still think more can be done even with the current system (booby traps, re-spawning and/or warping). |
