Starting a Website
I've been taking a web development class and I'm thinking of creating a website. As I work in PC repair, the website would cover a variety of issues I encounter at work, and their solutions. The target audience would be users encountering niche problems(such as a particular virus). I plan to eventually monetize it with Google adsense to pay for hosting fees, but first I would need to generate traffic. Any tips for how to generate traffic? I don't really want to pay for SEO or anything like that, 90% of the time it's just a scam that drives bots to your sites rather than actual humans. It's not the kind of website where I could just post articles to Reddit or whatnot, as its such a niche topic. |

This may or not be relevant, but if you want some free hosting check out GitHub Education. Don't see how you could get around SEO. If it's really such a niche topic, people are only going to find it when they are googling in frustration about that particular virus. |

I know nothing about the search engine itself, but promoting yourself on YouTube, other blogs, or other websites (Wikihow, or Wikipedia maybe?) might generate traffic?

If you buy howtogetridof<particular virus>.com that'd rank pretty high for almost no effort.
