I actualy used to be good during november I seried multiple sparrers had good streaks and I was able to do well, I was like 8th on the idev scoreboard and I was almost positive.

Due to guild problems I had to take a break from spar, I tried rejoining spar during febuary even though I had my guild to redo because of big problems that occured in december. I could not spar though even though I trained with my team tiptoing in my jordans I failed to regain what I had.

I have only been getting worse ever since and I cant be the sardon I was....

I need tips so I can stop being crappy,
im using a ipad for spar.
I am thinking of switching to pc but im not sure about it.  

Don't rush towards a lagger/delayer, theres a lot of those these days.
Try and avoid doing the same move repeatably
Move quickly, you dont have time to sit and wait for them to move
Defense or Offense, choose your prime
If your about to lose, be confident, try harder, dont panic, you can still win, player gets cocky
Don't trash talk unless you got game (Although that doesnt really help, I guess it boosts your confidence)
Don't compare yourself to other scores, it messes you up
Have a sparring partner to practice with and make sure theyre very good
Participate in player held tournaments and learn from them
Don't boost, don't talk during a spar unless you can type extremely fast, you'd be surprised how dirty most players can be
If someone freezes in spar and you know it isnt you thats lagging, I recommend to keep moving and atleast hit them once because that player in their eyes are still moving and will hit in random directions
Have a sword your used to, everyone has their favorite type of sword, slot, or anything in general to make them feel good
And try to set goals for yourself, the bigger the goal the more persistant youll be, if you fail the goal, thats okay learn from your mistakes and set another goal.
Race a friend to a certain spar amount, dont rush it, have fun
Join guilds with decent sparrers until your good enough that people will eventually seek you.

I also stopped playing around 3 months ago and just came back last week lol and i find there are way more people playing defensive and delay than before (it is the new style or something). It makes streaking much harder than before since it is much more tiring to get a win now.

Totally up to you. Some people prefer one device, others prefer another. If you are curious, feel free to try it out for yourself. But don't expect to get immediate results.

This is where I find a problem. It is not a bad thing to understand that you are not as good at something as you'd like to be.. But you seem to lack genuine motivation. Not just motivation to improve, but motivation to play and enjoy the art of sparring as well. You came here asking for outside help, tips and opinions, but you need to understand that your mind will not function at peak performance if you think negatively about the topic. This goes for a lot of things in life.

This of course is a first step to improvement, but a super important one for anyone on any level. This should come before actual techniques. Really sell it to yourself that you want to improve. Really teach yourself that you are not crappy, and give yourself a fight to be proud of. And let that fight motivate you to exceed that point and improve. Get excited about it. That's my best advice.

I only spar in the idev streak room, if nobody is in it il go to mixed.

No one good ever spars in there. You'll probably catch Comyt or Shiden in there sometimes but most of the time it's all noobs  

Basically, just don't worry about your record and have some fun. Having a good record will you get you far, but it won't get you to the top.  

How to become a better sparer? Spar a lot and increase your level of opposition slowly. Start in balamb spar then to master li's then to the side rooms of the battle arena, and finally to the streak rooms in the battle arena.


How to inflate your spar record? Get yourself a strong pc/laptop, find all the small tricks that will improve your pc/laptops performance, use ethernet, spar at super weird hours when only newbies spar.  

You just need the motivation to keep sparring, without worrying that you might do bad or lose. I have members that had negative scores but are now positive and I have a certain member that had a real negative score but is now catching up to her losses and even made top 10 of idev scoreboard last week for constant practicing. And another member who lost his confidence of himself because he hasnt sparred in years and feels he sucks enough to quit the game completely but Im slowly getting him back in shape. So key factor on fixing your spar are motivation, confidence, good attitude to keep yourself positive as a person and of course having fun

even the iDevice room is usually sketchy now, I really don't know what the hell happened to all of the other rooms, I remember like a year ago they weren't so infested with shady 5:1+ sparrers
