Upload GST Hats

This was mentioned on a thread which we kind of lead off topic, but I thought some of you might want to get involved too, so it deserved its own thread.

When a guild wins GST / places second, they should be able to upload their own hat, much like towering at 1ks and so on.

If a guild really feels they can win, they'll have a hat on standby, and if not and they pull through, they can rustle up a hat in a few days. Winners should get the option to have .gif animations, as there will only be a maximum of 14 hats given out that could be animated.

This would eliminate all the hate that has been directed at boring and plain GST hats over the past year from the community ~ no offence to GFX staff.

Thoughts?

I don't know about second. I'd say let Admins make hat for second and third. Let the team of #1 get the custom hat.

Something that sort of relates to this topic that annoys me is that Xor seems to be playing favorites with some of the guilds that win a Gst hat. The guild Crz which placed second in idevice was able to edit their hat and have it reuploaded. So I tried to do the same and Xor said the only changes that can be made is to add the letters "Gst" on the hat. That makes absolutely no sense since Crz hat was basically redesigned. I'm just trying to get the same benefit for my guild, I wanted to have the wings redesigned slightly.

There's premade hats for the winners, just because you don't like them doesn't mean you should get to upload your own. Aside from that, towering is so much more time put in, 1000 hours compared to like 2. Heck, only 7 people get the hat too, whereas a Guild Hat is given to 25 people. It seems fair enough to me. (You also get a belt so c'mon now.)

The hat for winning the only actual competition on iClassic should be something that players are proud to wear. This obviously isn't the case, as evidenced by the vast majority of the spar community. There have been other threads made on this topic with multiple suggested ideas, the one on this thread being one of them.

If I had to take a guess, I feel like the constant protest will amount to a change in the future. At least I hope it does.

How many guilds have got 1k compared to a GST win?

I highlighted a statement which I feel is completely irrelevant to this topic. You have said how towering gets 25 hats, whereas GST only gets 7. You basially said "if the hat(s) are ugly it doesn't matter as it only gets given to 7 people."

People should want to win a GST just because of the hats, IMO (And the achievement of course). You don't see Towering guilds uploading butt ugly hats on purpose just for the sake of showing off their 1k?

I think you would change your mind if you actually made it believable that you even play the game or understood the principle that people will reject content they don't like. Next to nobody is going to be satisfied with being spoon fed the designs that they dislike, so telling them to "get over it" is an incredibly ignorant statement. If you ever would have a chance at winning a GST I'd put money on a scenario where you complain about the hats as well. The only reason you don't care now is because you know you'll never personally be affected.
