I'm going to be creating a tech & gaming website with articles that have tech & gaming news, tech analysis, and guides to fixing things related to technology. However, the hardest part is deciding a domain name that:

1 Isn't cheesy

2 Isn't taken

3 Isn't a blatant ripoff of an existing site's name

4 Is easy to remember and say the name of to friends. I don't want a conversation that goes like this: "have you heard of ____? It's a great site I read." "Huh how do you even spell that?". "eh forget it"

For example arstechnica fails horribly at #4.

I'll rep whoever comes up with the name for the site.

I'm buying hosting for the site and the domain comes with it. My guess is it'll be an annual comittment so I'm looking at about $40 for a year of hosting

Sounds like a plan! Only thing I would suggest is not sticking with shared hosting, unless you know the repercussions. Once you get enough visitors, expect to pay more money for a better hosting plan.

I could go with a dedicated host if the site gets a lot of traffic, but I'm not expecting it to unless a link I post to Reddit explodes or something. I figure why not go with something cheap in case the project doesn't go as well as I hope
