The first one is a Kiwi and the second one reminds me of the monkey wrench. Not to worry though, everyone has to start somewhere. Keep practicing and soon you will be making stuff from scratch.

actualy the one i'm postig right now is the first i made lol it really sucks but as i am not good in GFX for melees i just post this pic so that somebody can maybe redo it? it is just here as an "idea". Thanks for the comments guys. For the 1st melee, i admit i was a bit inspired by the kiwi blade but if you look closely it isn't the same ;) and for the 2nd one i don't even know what is the monkey wrench :o http://i39.tinypic.com/nq8mq.gif (Unsupported image host)

I like them mate. You could try to simplify your shading a bit. Try using just three shades of gray for the blade, and maybe 2-3 for the hilt. It would make them a lot cleaner unless you're attempting a tarnished metal/rusted/worn look. In my attached example I used 3 colors for the blade. 4 colors for the hand guard. 3 colors for the hilt. 3 colors for the outline. (blade, hand guard, hilt) It's not the most cool looking example ever, but it's clean. A good way to get better, at least for me, was to make basic designs with basic shading. After I got the hang of it, I made more complicated designs. |
