is it a good or bad idea to jailbreak my phone
im bored and i want to play around with emulators and junk im also quite annoyed at the constant take downs of gba4ios and nds4ios by apple and i don't really feel like buying a buildstore membership and google searches don't really help, just the generic "oh it violates your contract and it puts you at risk," like i want specific details here i've never jailbroken before because im a lazy ass and i don't want my nudez leaked on tumblr or some **** so would it be a ****ty idea to jailbreak because you're too lazy to download emulators on your computer and because you're unsocial and like to play on your phone when you're outside |

I literally played MM7 on an emulator and beat it in under 2 hours at school without the teacher giving a **** about homework completion. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I've jailbroken my second gen more times than I've had it exchanged under warranty. (**** broke on me like 3 times.) You can always revert a jailbreak to the point it's as if it never happened, so there's no real loss in trying it out.

jailbreaking/rooting can ruin your warranty, so if you break your phone a lot its not reccomended.

What current iOS do you have? There's nothing wrong with JBing. I jailbroke my old iPod 5, my iPhone 5s, and now my iPhone SE. Restoring a iPhone removes the JB so it's really not a problem to try as long as you are not on the current iOS version since it currently has no JB.

Few notes to make: - If you reboot anytime after 7 days, you need to do the process again. - If you reboot anytime during the 7 day period, simply run the Pangu app again. This is just like the iOS 10 jailbreak. Malware is not that big of an issue so as long as you know what tweaks to install. Trust me it's not a hard process to do. If need any more help, check out some video tutorials. |

I used to jailbreak my iOS devices, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend it now. I've mainly been concerned over security issues. In my mind, allowing an unknown program to exploit a security vulnerability to gain root access doesn't seem safe to me. There is also an added risk of malware when you jailbreak your phone by allowing unsigned apps to run. But do whatever, I guess. |

Jailbreaking has a lot of benefits if you're willing to risk your warranty. I mean if you're lucky, as yog said, it may not matter but I recently updated my Jailbroken iPad mini to iOS 10 in preparation for the new Graal Client - the only issue is as someone said is that there is no jailbreak for iOS 10.2.1 yet

Just make sure you have a good safehouse in the styx for your now-fugitive iPhone ((jailbreak joke)) |

I suggest refraining from using untethered jailbreak since you'll have to jailbreak your device again every single time it shuts off completely plus it only lasts for 7 days at max. If you're really desperate you could try but I always waited for the tethered jailbreaks so I don't have to fix it up every week. About malware or viruses, just don't download things you don't trust or know what they are. Cydia is overall quite safe though unless you start adding unknown repositories |

Aw **** yeah dude jailbreaking is the best upgrade you can give your boring ass iPhone. It's the reason why I still have a 5C on iOS 8 because I'm too lazy to upgrade and jailbreak again. Redmondpie gives pretty reliable sources where to jailbreak so I suggest you start looking there. Anyways, you can do a hell lot more than install emulators on a jailbroken iPhone. You can change fonts, get custom app themes, and so many quality-of-life tweaks that just makes your phone better. |
