Gmod. Worth Buying?
Recently I've been watching videos of people using this program called "Gmod". At first I thought it was just an animating program, but when I saw it was a creative gaming program it caught my attention. I watched some more videos with what you can do with it and it looks amazing. It's only ten bucks on so I thought I would get it. My question is if it is worth buying. It looks like it really is worth it, but I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried this program before.

Well from what i've seen it looks like a sandbox game using items/levels/characters from various valve games (TF2, CSS, HL, etc). I plan on buying it because i think it looks really good. Just after i get the Orange Box, though.

Definately buy it. Actually, do you have a Steam account? I have an extra copy in my giftcodes from when it was on sale a long time ago, I'll gift it to you if you want. |

As others have previously stated, it is a sandbox-type game but at the same time, it is so much more. You can download mods at garrysmod.org to change game-modes, add custom weapons, etc. This game practically never gets boring due to the sheer amount of available content (which is also based off previously owned games on Steam).

Just bought it today and loving it so far. However when I play the multiplayer a lot of the times I will get big 3D error signs and purple and black checkered patterns all over. I have no idea how to solve this.

I ended up finding a fix for the purple/black checkered squares. You need textures from some of the other games, but can easily download the texture files from provided users. I'm still having issues downloading some addons into the game, but other than that I absolutely love it.

I got this game when it was on sale for $2 or something. I haven't really played it, but I'm sure I'll pick it up on some rainy day when I have nothing to do.
