Computer
So, I have a WONDERFUL 32 bit computer with 1 GB of RAM and 60 GB of storage space. I'm looking for a new computer to play Minecraft on, surf the web, all that kinda stuff. I'm looking at the Dell Inspiron 14R, with 6 gigs of Ram on it. Would this majorly improve my lag while playing Minecraft, or should I not even bother saving for that and look for something else? Suggestions and imput would be a HUGE help, for I am tired of this piece of junk I am using currently. Link to Dell Inspiron 14R-- http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-14r-n4110/pd |

It's still using an intergrated graphics card. I happen to have the same graphics card as that computer has, and minecraft runs like crap on it. I wouldn't recommend it for minecraft. Oh, I also had 4 gb ram and a 2.0ghz dual core processor. but its the intergrated graphics that cause the bad framerate. Desktops are usually better for running games, try building a desktop if you can and don't mind the lack of mobility, it will be a lot cheaper and more powerful. also this may or may not have some info. http://www.graalians.com/forums/show...aming+computer |

I bought a Gaming PC for $700 online. It's bloody amazing. 3.0GHz AMD HD processor and an AMD graphics card. 8GB of RAM and a 1000GB of space. It also comes with a built Blu-Ray DVD player and an HDMI port. It's pretty awesome. |

I've got a i7 950 o/clocked to 3.4GHz (mild), 12GB DDR3 RAM at 1800MHz, HD6970 graphics, Intel SSD.... and it's sitting unused under a desk in another city ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At the time, this cost like $2000 AUD but it was bleeding edge. You could prob pick this up for like $800 and it will play the **** out of minecraft (and everything else). Whats the major bottleneck for Minecraft? RAM, CPU, HDD or GFX? Focus on the bottleneck if you want it focusing on minecraft |

If you want to play Minecraft really nicely I recommend a Quad core processor. I use Optifine with the HD shaders and HD textrue packs and it runs great.

I have a budget of around $650 dollars, take or give a few bucks. If there was something exactly what I needed for $700, I guess I could save up some more, but yeah.

2.5GHz processor, that's rubbish. Anything under 3 I would never buy.
