I'm afraid to work on anything on the server because when Notch fixes the terrain and swamp bugs the map might be wiped....

It's gonna spike when the server re-releases with the new map. It's been down lately because nobody wants to work on something that's gonna be lost in a few weeks.

Keep in mind that there will be chests of redstone hidden on the map for you to make your own traps as a player in the games...

I'm planning on having some shelters for players premade. Then the approach will be to draw the players together.

DO NOT expect a five-fifteen minute bloodbath. Expect to be exploring the arena, mining for materials, setting traps, and staying clear of large mountains that could easily explode.

That doesn't make sense because the swamp bugs are just graphical issues that can be fixed without recoding the entire biome system.

Don't wanna reveal too much, but don't plan on going after the diamond weapons in the cornucopia unless you plan on taking out those who think likewise along the way...

Well if you need any redstone circuitry done, I have pretty much mastered the art of making redstone circuits. This includes farms and traps, as well as a piston maze. ;D

What should the arena be?

it would be more accurate to the book if the arena was large enough to contain a forest area, a center statue with a big lake in the middle, with a plain area as well as some rocky terrain youlll have to build the arena by scratch with a crew of people

I think the arena should be something where we could move around and fight; something non-foresty. Plus, forests make my laptop lag to death. x.x But thats my opinion. :o

It shouldn't be an open area, in both Hunger Games books there have been obstacles that Were not the people that were fighting each other but also traps. It also wasn't an open area either, so ours shouldn't be.

I would love to film the event. It would be awesome if i had someone else to commentate with me so it could be like some sport event on ESPN. Lol

People will try to dig during it so i suggest you region the area so no blocks can be broken (and cover up any caves) . Sounds like a great idea, i would help but i have realized working on a feature length minecraft movie is too much already XD
