Tired of Losing Spar Streak to Lag-Outs
I am bringing this issue up because I can't stand having my spar streak broken without actually losing a match or tying. Also, I know it happens to others, and a patch to this bug would benefit a large number of sparrers. Every time I get to about 40 or 50 spar wins in a row in the tournament spar room, I end up matched up with someone who (either purposely or unintentionally) lags out before the spar even starts, or sometimes during the spar. What happens is that I end up waiting a good 5 or 6 minutes doing nothing while people on the side tells me how bad it sucks. I can't hit the person, as my sword goes right through because their client is not connected anymore, so hits cannot connect. I end up marking down a "tie" and not being able to continue my streak. How frustrating this can be.. What I thought might be of use is possibly a script to take someone out of the spar automatically if they stand idle or don't slash the sword for say, two minutes. This would allow people to continue streaks through people who lag out during or before the match, as well as people who have gone AFK and remained in the spar queue. Does anyone else experience this, or feel it is a small bug that should be looked at? Does anyone else agree with my proposal, or have any advice to share on how to go about fixing this issue? |

Do you mean where they lag so bad that you can't kill them and the time runs out?

They should just have an auto-kick script, when someone have over 200ms they are kicked fron the spar, because sometimes, like you said, you can't even hit them.

I mean they stand still and sword goes through them, they can't move and you can't hurt them. They don't move at all the entire spar, and you are forced to wait until time runs out.

But I don't mean you can see them.. I mean they stand in the same spot and don't move. When you click their profile it says they are offline. Clearly not connected, I am doomed to lose my streak. A lag cap wouldn't be fair in most cases, as I have explained in response to Nyx above. My solution was a way to remove IDLERS from the spar. People who have not moved for two minutes, lag and AFK alike. Slashing around randomly does not affect these people, and it is not a solution. It takes 15 minutes for their accounts to automatically disconnect from the server after not moving, so during those 15 minutes (if he or she joined the queue before disconnecting from the server) the player is basically an invincible "streak-ender". |

i totally agree but maybe the could get kicked out of spar with you continuing your streak but them not getting a loss. because most of the time it unintentional.

I agree. Especially when you recieve an incoming phone call on your iphone and that makes you end up losing. Also when you have 20% battery sign popping up which results in the opponent winning the game. But the lag issue is really annoying.

Lost a 69 streak to someone who was using godmode openly, lost a 50-something streak to someone who intentionally lagged themselves out of control. Real annoying.
