Noob's Guide to: Sounding Smart!
Hello, dear sirs and ladygentlemen. Today I'd like to discuss a topic that some of us are ... less practiced... on: sounding smart... because unfortunately I don't have the time to teach you all to BE smart. I will leave that to our physcologists. The first step is learning to speak English. A majority of the population making up the nation of the Internet speaks this language.. of course, the second most common language is called Text Talk, and is taken by us English speakers to be immature and childish, also extremely annoying. So please, use you are or you're or your instead of ur, please you instead of u, are instead of r, the list can go on in a million directions. Remember this especially: vowels make up words. Please don't 'forget' them out of of nowhere for time's sake. How long does it take you to hit a button on your keyed-letter device? Second, please don't rage. Another's opinion is an opinion. This is a personal thing, and going out to insult other people's opinions is low and not needed, same with acting like a 5 year old who didn't get the chocolate bar they were promised whenever someone insults you, whether it is directly or indirectly, on purpose or not. Almost all of us are teenagers, you would think we would have stopped having whiny fits whenever someone disagrees with us. Third, if you want to prove a point, don't throw in a million cuss words and insults because this proves nothing and makes people annoyed. Instead, debate the issue calmly and state all your facts and proof in an orderly manner then proofread it and send the message away, as this gives you a much higher chance of being listened to and not just being discarded as a rambling idiot who is trying to be a troll. Fourth, if you want respect from your fellow graalians, please don't name yourself something with alternating capslock, random numbers, or such. This makes you seem like a bambling noob, unless it's done in respectful way like Cat does. As well as that, don't try to act cool by making pathetic insults towards people when faced with someone who opposes you. Be smart, be the better man or ladygentleman, and stop whining. Most of us won't be offended by your rambling and crazy insults. Fifth, don't go around looking for things to disagree with and hate. If you don't like an opinion, go rant somewhere else, the people posting there probably don't want to hear you whining about how this is a terrible idea and how the threadmaker sucks and how ALL THESE IDEAS SUCK. Instead, if you want to disagree with the idea, tell them exactly what you think is wrong and how it could be fixed. People will listen to you, and you will sound like an adult. Sixth, don't to make everyone else feel crappy. This is all I have to say about that subject. You people know who you are. Seventh, JUST DON'T BE AN IDIOT. You are aloud to have opinions, but please guys, seriously, there are ways to say them maturely and there are ways to sound like a rambling man who has no sense of life and thinks everything revolves around him. Love, Kat Because even I sound dumb when im not planning out everything I write |

I only use proper grammar around graal or some other gaming communities, and even on school projects. But when it comes to texting friends, chatting on facebook,or basically when it comes to my 'real' social life,I don't want to seem like a nerd. -_- It'll probably be acceptable when I'm in college, but as of now I'll probably never get pretty girls again if it's like this 24/7. But I do see where you're getting at,It makes me kinda mad how people can't spell and I think certain people are not from the U.S. but it turns out they are just very low in the academic area. :/

lol u r right hpyct,u has the best graamer man,bt ye doesnt mek cence. l8er dud Hm,true but it kinda seems different when a lot of my friends are talking 'txt talk' and I'm all proper. So I decide to keep it 'txt talk'. Over 1000 friends on my real facebook and only like 50 use proper grammar. But don't get me wrong I still agree. |

Getting personal messages from people that talk in text chat are like puzzles. For me its really hard to understand those messages since i am not english at all. Its just a subject i have at school, and a language i hear on tv and see in videogames. I really hope that the people that this thread was made for actually read it. (:

This was terribly formatted for a guide that was meant to teach us how to sound smarter.

If I want to type it as I did Contacting Authority, and make a beautiful header as well as make sections for everything, it would be pointless. If it was terribly formatted, I may point out, I would make it all one huge paragraph. No, there are many paragraphs in here, and there is nothing wrong with this. Are you going to claim all books are terribly formatted because they don't section every paragraph for people who are too lazy to read some stuff? Honestly - its just paragraphs. If you can't stand reading it, then I suggest you at least take some note of the ideas in this post. To be honest you aren't really sounding smart right now at all - you're attacking me for no good reason, providing worthless backup by implying paragraphs don't sound smart - and there is nothing whatsoever wrong with typing in paragraphs (last time I checked, college students write their essays like this). Not only that, you are putting down this thread with no good reason other than to make me feel bad, and get some laughs from other people because you want to hoard rep and raise your self esteem, which is probably already at a bad level.
