Well I've finished the application, so start sending yours in!
Minecraft Server Application

In my new server, I plan to have in-game currency and trade be a major part of the server. There will be many different plugins for hack and swear protection, including grief protection. A full list of the Bukkit plugins I am considering using is located at the bottom of this list, feel free to make suggestions.
Please fill out this form with the most detail possible. You should make this as accurate as possible, I’m currently looking for moderators, admins, or builders.

5. Applicant type (builder, moderator, or admin)

Situations:

1. You find several players on the world chat talking about how their currently griefing someone’s house. What do you do?
2. You run into a hacker while you’re looking over the world. What do you do?
3. You find a player swearing at another for killing them, (on this server PvP is allowed), what do you do?

Past Experiences:

1. Have you or are you in an administrative position on any other servers?
2. What actions have you taken in the past to put a servers rules into effect?

Why:
1. Why should I hire you?
Knowledge:
1. Do you know many or all crafting recipes?
2. Do you know how to use redstone effectively?
3. Do you have any idea how to use Bukkit plugins such as chest-sign selling plugins?
Feedback:
1. In this section, give me ideas for server names, more Bukkit plugins, additions to the server, and other stuff you want me to know.

kewl beans, i found that my current laptop has 4 gigs of ram and my old desktop has 550 megs...

so i might end up using my laptop to host and play, gimme suggestions

Ikr shawn and beholder, but it would probably be faster if I host it on my laptop, but i dunno. anyway, send in the applications, ill figure out which method is better.

Also, how am i going to end up hosting 24/7? is it worth it?

Laptops aren't really designed to handle the requirements that hosting a Minecraft server needs, so you might end up damaging your laptop, so I would advise against that notion.

Also, hosting on a laptop can cause some lag issues, and if you're going to be playing on that laptop whilst hosting the server from it, you're going to get a lot more lag and possibly some errors as well.

Of course, how much of a problem it will cause depends on how old your laptop is and what sort of hardware it has, but you should really use a desktop if you have one.

Hosting a server with expected high traffic and numerous plugins is just a recipe for disaster on any laptop.

Is this just to play or an OP position? And wtf is AntiCheat? Isn't there NoCheat for that?

I haven't been very active in the bukkit community lately, but I'm pretty sure NoCheat was discontinued.

It was, but it's still VERY good in disabling hackers.
