Will get suspension for self defense? Need advise.
So just yesterday my school friends and I were playing ping pong at the ping pong tables in the school yard, the bell rings, we have Art class which is 3 minutes away. My two friends and I are going back to the school building while playing the ball to each other and trying to make it stay in the air as long as possible when suddenly a swaggot from the year below turns up and steals the ball and runs off, I chase him with a friend and demand him to return it, he doesn't, he shoots it away, I give him the evil eye, he shoves me , I shove him, his friends get involved one of them fights my friend while the other one kicks me, resulting in me catching his foot in the air and pulling it thus making him fall and cry, I get the ball, return to class just in time. He tells the principal and there's a high percentage I'll get suspension from the school trip I've waited over a year for. How should I defend myself when they ask for my side? He'll exaggerate and presumably say I called him x y z. I really need your advise because I suck at defending myself especially in front of authorities since I tend to overthink and then blabber nonsense. |

Okay, go to the principal alone and tell him exactly what happened. Don't lie or but just twll exactly how it went. He will most likely understand and let you go on the trip. After all, it's your word against the guy from the year below, why would he believe him and not you? If he still wants to suspend you, tell the exact same story (no lying etc.) to your parents and let them talk to the principal. Good luck .

I'll be portrayed as a tyrant while the only thing I did was literally reverse his kick.. The young one is always the angel. |

When I was in school participating in a fight was an automatic suspension even if you were on the defensive. Of course the aggressive/procrastinator would get a harsher punishment, but dems da rules.

Witnesses always help. What Engel is saying is probably the best way to go, although if your school has security cameras in the area where the fight was, you can probably have the principal pull up the footage from that point in time.

My school has a system where you could get suspended for talking in class. Small amounts is fine, but of you're talking really loudly and stuff you get a pink slip, you go down to the office, get a few detentions, and go back up. Then, if you get more than one pink slip for it (I think that's how it is, I've honestly never needed to know) you can get a nice red card. Talk in the wrong class really loudly, it all adds up and you're suspended. Also, so I stay on topic: Dimentio I agree with Engel yup. But don't be afraid to slightly sugarcoat it. Don't do it much, but put small amounts of emphasis on certain words. Keep eye contact. |

I got suspended even though the other guy was the instigator and was shouting racist **** at me beforehand. Same length too.

I think defending yourself is logical. It's part of our nature and we can't change it. The suspension is here to show that it is bad (even though you were just defending yourself). Even if you get suspended i think you shouldn't really take it in a bad way because almost every human would have reacted like you did. I think school are getting to strict. In my school it's the same. Even a little fight can get use suspended for few days. They are forgetting that we are animals after all... Small fights can happen. However i agree big fights needs to be punished.
