Will get suspension for self defense? Need advise. - 2

Schools are responsible for the students, therefor they don't give a damn if self-defense is logical or not; they want to discourage violence.

In my high school, you would be suspended even if you stood right there and got beaten to a pulp. They have no way of deciphering who is the real instigator if the story is warped in favor of the person who tells the story. Moral of the story: Don't fight.

Dimentio, telling the truth never hurts. You never know what is going on inside the principal's head in situations like these, but all he/she would like to know is the truth. Even if you are still punished, it is better to do the right thing.

If you are getting in trouble either way, just make sure you kick his ass until he can't walk for a week. Always was my motto in school. Same punishment? Why hold back then?

It turned out okay, I did the "it was just self defense" defense and it worked just fine.

Well this is all explained already in the thread. School's can't afford to sit and investigate every single dispute that occurs. You can say you were just defending yourself, but so can the person who instigated the fight. It's easier to just punish each person equally and discourage ANY violence. As an adult I know very well that students don't think it's fair -- and it's not. Students SHOULD defend yourself, but as a school who is responsible for their students it's best to just punish and discourage fighting back.

I can't believe all you did was catch his foot and trip him. I would've done much much more. Catch his foot, twist it. Burry his face into the ground and raise his foot to his head so it damages his hamstring muscles. No real damage yet, wait for his friends to take notice and try to engage combat. As they come close, forcefully yank his leg up so his foot is touching the ground extending over his face. This would be very painful, unless to a grandmaster of yoga. His friends will recoil at his scream then used their stun to an advantage, sneak in a few jabs. Deflect any hits using counter body physics. Target joints and pressure areas and use momentum to your liking. Your allies will then assist you seeing towards the upper hand and before you know it, viola! You've won.

But you probably will get a little bit more than 'suspended' for that.

destroy the knife by stashing it after washing it, dont touch anything without using your shirt in between your hand and whatever you are touching to prevent fingerprints.
