You can dodge those corners, i mean i used to go our them like a U turn and get them from behind (on the corner near the door that takes you to the spike room), you might get hit one time but if you can fit a combo in, you can easily take him/her out with a combo. I usually run into the spikes if my anti corner combo doesn't work, lol.

PS, use the 0.5 sec invulnerability to your advantage

Anyway... Sard is a boosting location, is it me but the top of sards feels extremely small and hard to get around?
