Levels are basically easy pixel art. Rather than having millions of colors/shades to work with you have like 100 or so, and they are all predesigned.

No offense to LATs out there, it's still difficult.

Personally I think scripting is the most complicated form of development.

Similar to, not a form of pixel art. I guess they share quite a bit concept-wise but they're really not the same.

Yeah I agree completely. I was simply stating the similarly between the two developmental arts. Obviously, if they were the same, then there wouldn't be LATs, there would just be gfx.

Uh... comparison is a comparison. If two things were exactly on the same level, then the word "comparison" would be greatly limited in its use. So first, both of you need to understand the definition of that and then realize that your attempt to clarify my statement was not needed as it is already used in its correct context.

The Spanish Soccer Team "Barcelona" in its professional international league along with its millions of supporters still require the same fundamental positions (such as Forward, Center, etc.) as that of a normal high school soccer team. So yes, Elder Scrolls' "Loremaster" position CAN be compared to Delteria's Loremaster position due to the fact that it's necessary in its function.

But I assume you're only saying this because you feel Delteria is too small/simple of a game to require such a position. Great opinion, but the fact is that everyone felt the task was not as "simple" as it appeared. Thus the birth of a very essential position, free from other responsibilities, was required.

Anything else guys, or shall we say again that my comparison was incorrect?

Not to be a smartass or anything(okay... to be smartass....) but if I drew up all my tiles, and then constructed an image that looked like a level in the graphics application, is it a level or an image? and from that, is it labelled graphics art, or level art.

In my opinion, a level artist is a subclass of a graphics artist, and a whole lot less talented(in general).

Not quite sure where you got the idea that I don't know what a comparison is. When I said it's not fair to compare Delteria and Skyrim I meant that those two games are nowhere near the same level of quality.

Since you tried and failed to make an analogy, I'll go ahead and give you another and even stick with the soccer theme. When Barcelona (Skyrim) plays a game, they need a really large stadium, vendors in that stadium, people to record and broadcast the event, announcers for the event, and the list goes on and on. Now when there is a peewee (Delteria) soccer game being played, there's no point in hiring all of those extra people that you need for a successful soccer game like you would in a Barcelona match.

I assume you are only trying to compare the two to justify the need for such a pointless position because you seem to think that a Graal server is some kind of grand thing worthy of it's own title.

Now, was there anything else you needed me to clarify or are you going to try to say that there's something else I don't know the meaning of?

Ohh how wonderful of you Albus. I shall now pick apart YOUR failed analogy and point out how mine is actually used, again, in its correct context.

Barcelona (Skyrim) and all its factors you mentioned are independent variables that can be removed without affecting the actual Soccer team and it's intended game. Now this, "peewee" Delteria game can also have these factors added or removed just the same as Barcelona (Skyrim). Can a High school soccer game have people video broadcasting, hot dog stands, etc.? Yes, it can. And I will tell you why.

My analogy is used in its correct context because the comparisons are made between its DEPENDENT variables. In order to have a successful RPG game you NEED the core positions that the Soccer Team and it's gameplay DEPENDEND on. E.g. Loremaster. The factors you mentioned earlier in your failed analogy were independent variables.

Dare say that you remove the Loremaster department from Skyrim and you'll still get an RPG game. and dare say that removing the fundamental Goalie, Forward, and Center position and say you'll still get an efficient soccer team. But can you remove video-broadcasters, hotdog stands, and a large stadium but still get a quality soccer team? Yes.

So exactly, what comparison are YOU making?

Without a separated department for Loremaster's in Delteria, you would not have a quality RPG-game.

So I state once again, yes, you DON'T know the meaning of comparison due to fact you are using it in its wrong context or intended meaning of discussion. And boy, I'd LOVE to hear your reasoning after this.

Also, not every RPG hires writers to do their story for them, so you should probably stop using Skyrim as some sort of standard when it comes to RPGs.
