How ignorant. The US invaded Iraq for it's natural resources like oil. They covered it up by saying they were looking for WMD's or 'Weapons of Mass Destruction'.

The coalition forces of many countries invaded for various reasons. WMDs and oil were only part of the reason. Human rights abuse, failure to cooperate with UN inspections and not complying with sanctions imposed on them were also important for the decision. If it was just for oil they would invade Saudi Arabia as they have much more oil.

Read the post you quoted. I said money was involved... was referring to oil. But the main reasons were to look for weapons and try to remove saddam. the oil was just a plus that encouraged the US.

^^^ also big reasons. Once again iraqs oil was just a plus not the main reason.

they didn't do it because they wanted to help or for no reason. They did it because Afghanistan was at war with Russia. personal interest

So much misinformation in this thread.

Many of the taliban / al qaeda weapons being used are Russia's from the rebel group having warred with russia about 2 decades ago.

Back to the subject of Ukraine, a Ukrainian acedemic visited Australia, and is now telling the Aussie government to impose trade sanctions on Russia.

Australia is probably the safest place I can think of besides any random island out in the middle of the Pacific.

Just to add a new discussion topic, Say that the entire world IS engulfed in a new world war, which countries do you think have the best chance of surviving? What would happen to the world, would the Age of the Internet end?

I'm not sure about it, America would likely fall and Europe is a lot weaker without us. I honestly think Japan would have a chance of survival with their somewhat advanced technology, I'd say they would be able to survive fairly long, unless they got nuked. In that case you can kiss goodbye to Pokemon and almost all your favorite animes. If you have a counter argument or correction to my logic, please tell, I'm probably not fully informed on the state of the world and would love to know the facts, or what you guys think the facts are.

japan doesn't even have a proper military . The US only allows them to have a self defense system.

Depends on who's fighting who. Without that context this question is way too broad and could go any direction. Japan has a **** chance at survival.
