This is awful and disheartening that we've allowed these words to persist and be socially acceptable for people to use. Shame on us.  

People are always like "I know this dude, he's gay". Is that supposed to be a problem?
It's very saddening.  

Surprised the SJWs haven't said anything yet. With that said I do think it's bad that this still persists. But meh. To me there are people who are gay and there are people who are basically the scum of the earth that commit crimes and act thuggish. They're *******. Pretty well the same can be said of any skin colour too.

Context is overrated, right?  

I think when gay-marriage becomes more accepted those words will take on new meaning like they have for the past couple of centuries.

Nowadays I feel most people use it just as a hurtful word to all people gay or straight.  

I've had this in my bookmarks folder for months and I check it every now an again to see if attitudes are changing or not.

When you look at tweets like "i hate gays gangbangers and ****ing jerkers..unless its gay gangbangers thats ****ing jerkers....WOAH!!! ...no homo..im not gay...******!" or "There must have been one ****** in the gym yesterday trying to impress these two stupid small girls by benching 60 lool I wanted to be sick" (I just found those in literally two seconds on the feed. There's probably been hundreds of more examples of these by the time you're reading this.)

or what 99% of these tweets are: "Lol what a ******" or "Lol you're so gay" context really doesn't matter. It just proof that these homophobic words have infiltrated our language and are used regularly between people in conversations all the time.

This. Regardless of the context in which these slurs are used, attitudes need to change. It's not appropriate to use racist slurs so why should it be appropriate to use homophobic slurs? As a gay male I hear this kind of stuff everyday and it's not nice to hear. Members of my own family have used slurs like this in front of me and they try and play it off by saying "hahaha i didn't mean it in that way..." but that doesn't make what they said any less offensive.  

You can't say they are using the words out of context when they are literally using them to make fun of someone. "You're so gay..." that's being used as a bad thing and making someone feel like it's wrong.

People use gay and stuff when they bully people(i learned the hard way) and im not even gay.i do find internet sex weird,but im not a homo.i only find it weird on the internet.people express themselves way more on the internet because their parents arent watching.
