I use 9, 8 for the letters and numbers and my thumb for the space bar. I've typed 2-page essays in 20 minutes each averaging about 1,500 words, give or take.

My guess is 4 on the back of the device for support and 2 for the touchscreen.

Or the phone is magic and floats in air and you can type with your right hand's five fingers and use your left hand pinky for the space bar.
