Howdy! I come to you with another idea which will be added once we get enough input from you guys! Death Effects / Animations! If you've played Halo Reach, you'll know what I'm talking about. Let me explain

Death Effects are different effects that are shown when your player dies. It could be a different way for your player to die, like their body parts falling apart to the ground. Or something more complex like a confetti explosion. We could go anywhere with this! We could even do special death effects which are for sale for a limited time on holidays.

The effects would be purchasable in different currencies. Event HS (Horse Shoes), Gralats, and Gang Points. Different death animations would be only available in certain ways.

Can we come up with some cool death animations or effects? I want to have a lot available when we release it so there's a lot to choose from. Nothing too crazy though!



I also had an idea for Death Markers. A grave stone, or some other marker, would be put where your player dies. It would show your nickname or something near it. It would fade away after 5 seconds or so.

There could be an animation for easter that a giant egg crushes you or something.  

Maybe have an animation specially if the gun/melee used to kill you?

Example, the newbie knife, the animation/effect is that there'll be a hole on your chest and lie down and blood flows.

If used a gun with recoil, once the player dies, he will be pushed back by 1 tile and dies laying down on his back.  

For death markers, we could use either a grave, coffin or a cross.  

I remember suggesting something VERY similar like this to Zone. The only difference was that my idea didn't have purchasable death animations. Instead, they were situational (getting hit by plasma causes disintegration), and a little random.

Here's a few ideas; sorry if they're a little violent, I blame Fallout 1 & 2!

Ideas:
-Arm(s) getting blown off
-Headshot. Your head explodes, or falls off
-Implosion
-Explosion (because Michael Bay)
-The original death animation, but an angel flies to the heavens after you fall
--Same as above, but a demon comes out instead!
-Exploding into tiny little pieces
-Getting vaporized
-Melting
-Internal Combustion
-Exploding into a cloud of smoke

There could also be variants of these that involve blades weapons. You could even "cartoonify" some of them. For instance, the vaporization animation could leave two blinking eyes at the end, similar to old cartoons.  

I could have so much fun with this maybe we can upload custom death animations? Lol

Doesn't all need to be the same. However some effects/sprites will be needed in some cases.  

It would be hilarious if one animation was of the dead player doing an embarrassing dance, like the "humiliation" victory in the Killer Instinct arcade games.  

Oh thats weird- e.o

I like that way maybe it should be 50-50?  

I'd pay to upload custom death animations. Or maybe add a player-made shop?
