Talking in front of crowds
I gotta talk about 2 Projects next week , one is about Indiana US states stuff geography & the other one is about a book for my german class. I can speak fluent german so I dont really got a Problem with it but I do have a Problem with speaking in front of crowds, such as my class which is full of 25 immature Kids that make jokes about.. EVERYTHING. So how do I Keep myself calm and still be able to talk fluently? I, most of the time, start stuttering in front of People that I dont know and then theres that other MAJOR Problem... I cant look People into the eyes (idk okay its scary as HELL I just cant) and my teacher said to a few People who already held their Projects that they should look into the class and not to the teacher or on the ground etc. so thats really concerning me because I dont wanna do something that makes me feel uncompfortable but I also wanna get a A on my project. (I was supposed to buy a 100-250 pages book but the casual idiot that I am, bought a complicated best-seller with 501 pages so wish me luck cuz I only bought the book yesterday and my Project is next week on March 19th.. the book is amazing though) .. SORRY FOR ALL THAT TEXT I JUST GET SO CARRIED AWAY WHY DONT I ALREADY WRITE A BOOK WITH THIS HORRIBLE GRAMMAR (wattpad People would love it but dont bcuz I dislike 1D) *cough* How do I talk in front of a class in fluent german about a 501 pages book (and on the same day in another class about Indiana), Story, Autor, characters without stuttering and looking into the class, with my fear of looking into peoples eyes? (Im sorry for all my stupid threads too ;-; I just dont ever know okay Im not funny alright okay) |

Practice while staring at a wall for a few hours. When you go to do your presentation, imagine that wall is still there. Should you make eye contact with people, only do so for a few seconds before moving on to look at the next person. I used to have a college professor who always had the weirdest looks on his face when he was watching something, and I learned to just ignore him and kind of 'scan' the crowd instead of locking eyes with him. And honestly, you don't even need to look people directly in the eyes so long as you're looking in their general direction. I tend to look slightly over people's heads, or at their mouths because it still gives the general impression that you're focused on them. Also, if you start stuttering, don't freak out. Just take some deep breaths and slow down a little. I know one or two people who stutter, and it happens when their thoughts start racing. It's not going to be the end of the world if you trip up now and then. Even the best speakers in the world do so every once in a while. If people start talking during your presentation, your teacher (if they're a good one) will probably shut them up for you. If they're snarky and rude, you don't need to seek their approval because they're going to be that way anyway. Just be positive, and focus on delivering your speech as if no one is there. They don't control your emotions. You do. |

The best way to do this is practice. I would recommend going to the mall or something and force yourself to talk to 50 random people. It might be scary at first, but eventually you will over come the fear.

I try to imagine the room is empty whenever I do speeches but considering what you said about your class, that may be kinda hard. You're always gonna deal with the several jokers shouting "DEEZ NUTZ" and stuff. Just try to shut them out of your mind and carry on with you speech. |

Meh i'm comfortable with talking because I tend not to make big deals about it. For projects I just inhale the idea that everyone shuts the **** up and listens to me speak. Also make your presentation something you're proud of (information-wise). If you are happy with your information and content it will boost your confidence. Maybe add bits of humour etc. to keep the audience attracted to your presentation when you notice everyone paying full attention and in the state of mind you want them to be everything is easier. Also you have to look up at the audience when you speak bro. I know it can put you off as you may laugh when you see your friends etc. but it's more professional. If you feel like laughing or anything just pinch yourself discretley which will take your mind away from the laugh. Also maybe have a script or something or keep practicing so your content is fluent. I remember I used to osmetimes make scripts for myself and then just memorise the scripts. I kind aprobably went off topic and instead gave you tips on how to do a decent presentation but oh well |

Oh but you weren't shy to tell me to get better internet in front of everyone in Dairy Hut. Jkjk but just don't worry what people got to say. Go up there, present, get the grade you deserve and ignore all the negativity if people wanna start. When I present in college in front of the whole class, I just follow these tips and have no problem even when I'm a shy guy myself. Perhaps talk to yourself in front of your family/friends to practice or do it in front of a mirror/wall. Good luck.

Practise your speech everyday for 10 minutes, or about 2-3 run throughs. You can start just by speaking to the mirror, then to your family members, and then to your close friends, and then shout it out when you're alone. One thing I found when i was younger and wasn't able to speak in front of people was that I had a low self-confidence in myself. Every day, or when you remember, write down all the good things about you. Write about 5 good things you did today, whether it's walking across campus and taking care of your health to simply saying hello or nodding/smiling/acknowledging another person. |

Let me tell you a story from your senpai. One time lil multipass didn't do jack for there speech till the day of the speech. Lil multipass made it all up on the spot. My peers up graded me and my teacher gave me a good grade as well. i had tears in my eyes I don't like talking in front of people either. But I knew I had to do something because my aunt and uncle told me if I didn't get good grades I'd be in trouble. I don't like being in trouble I hate myself enough. My speech was about weird al yankovich. I told the class weird al had three children all named weird al. I mentioned songs from a couple CDs I read about in the lil pamphlet you know....?...ok, my speech was a a downtown sauce clown at its best. It was atrocious. I have a couple hints for you Read the chapter names of each book Find ones that seem most prevalent Pick out BS from the chapters and learn that shiiii Skim through other chapters incase there is some other bs that might be important Practice that speech you gotta write it out then you speak it then you gotta write it out. You can start doing this while you actually writing the speech so you learning the speech and writing it at the same time, complete bs people are dumb you can do this. Practice speech in a lot of different settings (parks, sitting in a chair, in front of family when they aren't expecting it) you got what a week and a half just work on this these things you'll feel happy and accomplished after words, I promise Making my essays and speeches into songs is my strong suit, it's what got me threw what I accomplished in school so far.
