inb4 get ready for the ****tiest **** post
Do any of you use ASL, PSE, SEE, etc to communicate? Just wondering if there were any of you out there! I have been learning and using PSE for a while now and have really enjoyed it.

As a side note, I have just created a guild called "Talk To The Hands" just sort of as a place for those who know sign, want to learn, or are in the process of learning.

What do you guys think of sign and what are your experiences with it?  

i throw down some gnarly gang signs.  

I memorized the Swedish hand alphabet and a few words of Swedish Sign Language. I have no reason to ever use it though so I don't think I'll get any good at it.

IDK it but my best friend is almost fluent it ASL and cussed me out in it all the time.  

It's my language class, almost down with year 1. Does that count?

On a serious note, could you do me a favor and PM my sister Flury about your guild? She's been using ASL for years now, and would probably die if you asked her to join.  

I know some common phrases and conversation in SEE, although there is a low chance you will ever need to use it I still think everyone should at least know a bit of it especially anyone working in customer service or other social type environments

IMO if that's the case they should teach it at basic job training

With SEE probably not. I am going to school to become a police officer and sign will come very much in handy. A lot of members of the deaf community have been wrongfully arrested and shot due to the lack of knowing at least some sign.

I use PSE by the way.  

SEE-II makes more sense here since I live in a dominant English speaking area, ASL is nice but it is an entirely different language from English

SEE accurately represents the English language using sign and SEE-II does it by also incorporating ASL which makes it easy for ASL signers to learn, PSE is sort of similar but it does not properly map the English language like SEE does

I would say a mixture of ASL and SEE would be the best since they are now tied together, I don't sign enough to want to learn ASL because I doubt I will be signing with many non-English people (but you can use SEE to sign ASL if you understand the structure of SEE-II properly)

PSE uses ASL Signs, English word order, Auxiliary words are dropped as with ASL.

So in the different signs the sentence "I am going to the store" would be
ASL: STORE I GO.
PSE: I GO STORE.
SEE: I am going to the store.  

How different is BSL to ASL? I know the BSL hand alphabet and a few gestures but am interested in learning more

Different in almost every way.

ASL alphabet only uses 1 hand, while BSL uses 2.
The signs for words are different as well. For example the ASL sign for deaf is the BSL sign for hearing person.
