Quality? It's just a gaming PC that's horribly overpriced and repackaged with a fancy case to make it look "cool".

Building your own machine means you can afford even MORE quality. For the price of an Alienware machine you can build an even better quality machine, a huge-ass monitor, surround sound system and whatever else parts you may need and probably save money.

Then pay someone $50 to do it for you and still come out on top. The only thing that's probably troublesome are laptops... but chances are if you hunt you can find an equally powerful laptop at half the price of an Alienware product.

Purchasing a computer from a local computer shop instead of stores like Best Buy or directly from the manufacturer (Dell, HP) will usually get you a way better warranty and help if something goes wrong as well.

The distributor my company uses gets us up to 3 year warranties on custom built computers should anything go wrong.
