The lantern could be a fun pk weapon, but it sucks. It's basically a slower sword. Can the fireball go further and faster?

Also, maybe you should explain why you want it(and how it benefits the current game) besides "it'll be a cool pk weapon" because that's just a opinion, no substance to it.

If you like the feel of it, get a sword that has flames, problem solved.

The Lanterns fire ball may be slow but it still will hit an opponent whos charging you, and the fire ball goes farther than even the sword can reach. Plus the fire ball also goes through walls(i know the sword can to but the lantern goes further). Its already good enough of a weapon

Lets consider this on the current state of game balance. I assume you already know the lantern does 1.0 damage

Further - This would create an unfair advantage for the holder of the lantern as they would definitely not be able to get hit if you increased the range of a lantern fireball to further than a sword.
Faster - Even though a sword can be slashed many, many times a second it still only does 0.5 damage, plus swinging your sword leaves you in the slash gani for 0.25 seconds, plus the idle gani for 0.05 seconds, leaving you completely vulnerable for 0.3 seconds, which will add up to a few seconds if you're spamming a player or flag for example. Making this faster would mean it would only take half the time to kill a player, theoretically meaning you could get kills at double the normal rate if you also factor in the extended distance you're proposing. This definitely would not be fair or healthy for the game.

Overall, with a fairly low level of thought, you can see why this is such an awful idea, and funnily you've suggested it twice.

It was in my previous post if that, somehow, wasn't obvious.

Adding on to what Droid said, it also instantly detonates bombs. I would rather have it be used as a quest item(burning webs, like it's already being used for).

Not going to happen, lantern upgrade is fine as it is. It's mostly there to open up new progression and unlockables, not to make PvP more in-depth. If players have found ways to use it in PvP successfully that's pretty cool, but as long as it's not OP/abusable it won't be balanced any further.

I think so. And yes you can have different skins, there is a pumpkin lantern already... and I think that's the only other lantern that exists. But when I rescripted them, customization was in mind.

I try to make everything flexible in order to reduce redundancy when developing. So much copy/pasting was done prior to the server having real scripters, makes editing a huge pain in the ass.
