I've got a lot of enjoyment out of Terraria and Starbound. L4D2 is a classic but wait for it to go on sale for $5 before you get it. These are great if you have friends to play them with pretty consistently.

I finaly got a laptop that won't overheat when running something more complicated than a potato, so I'm thinking I should get the PC version of Terraria, Or, Subnautica.
